We've Changed Our Name
Yes, “Pawmetto Lifeline” is indeed the organization formerly known as “Project Pet.” Why did we change the name? To clarify for the entire community just what makes our mission and services unique.
“Project Pet” is an identity that we will continue to cherish – under that banner we have been the conscience of compassion for the Midlands community and a vital area resource for humane care for abandoned and homeless animals. It was perfect for our formative years. But now it doesn’t say enough about not only who we are and what we’ve done, but more importantly, what we will be doing in the future. The operative word is “Lifeline,” because that’s what we offer to companion animals whose futures would otherwise be without hope – a new chance at life, and a better life than they would otherwise have had. As for the “Paw” in “Pawmetto” – well, that lets you know to whom this lifeline is being thrown. But you probably figured that part out yourself.
And the perfect time to launch this new identity is now, as we step forward with the construction of our new home, which will serve as a beacon for the no-kill movement in the “Pawmetto State.” Please join us in celebrating this new identity that lets the world know more fully what we’re all about.
